Part Number: AAN-012
This Pennsylvania longrifle is stocked in curly maple, brass furniture, octagon-to-round barrel, and small Siler flintlock. The curly maple is stained to a tawny brown. The brass furniture is hand burnished bright and includes a York County influenced brass patchbox. The small Siler lock is polished bright to contrast the brown finish on the 38" Getz octagon-to-round barrel. Offered as a used rifle, it does have some handling marks from use and disassembly. The breech end of the barrel is signed J. Belcher.
The .45 caliber Getz barrel has a tapered octagon breech with a single wedding band to round. The octagon-to-round profile reduces the overall weight and muzzle weight of the rifle. The .45 caliber bore is cut rifled with seven lands and grooves with a 1 in 56" twist for a tightly patched round ball. The muzzle has been coned to ease loading and filed with a decorative rose crown. The bore is bright and clean. The barrel finish is a smooth brown, with some normal wear at the breech and muzzle from use. A flat top rear sight is dovetailed 9-1/4" from the breech, and a iron blade front sight is dovetailed behind the muzzle.
Trigger reach is 13", ideal for smaller or shorter than average shooters. This rifle weighs 7.1 pounds and balances nicely due to the octagon-to-round barrel.
