Part Number: AAN-851
This replica English smoothbore carbine features a English lock with a dog catch. The English lock evolved from the earlier Snaphauce. Locks of this design exported from England and were used in America from the mid 1600's through the French and Indian War. The carbine is stocked in walnut and trimmed in bright iron furniture. As-new, unfired this carbine was neatly hand assembled by contemporary builder Leonard Day.
The carbine is assembled around a 20 gauge smoothbore with a .615" bore diameter. The 31" octagon-to-round to barrel with a 11-1/4" breech with a single wedding band to round. The bore is bright in as-new condition. The smoothbore can be fired with a patched round ball, or with lead shot using our 20 gauge wads and cards.
