Part Number: AAN-173
Known as the Second Model Brown Bess Musket, the correct title is the Short Land New Pattern Musket, to indicate the 42" barrel, and heavy duty construction for land troops (Infantry). The earlier Long Land Pattern Muskets had a 46" barrel, and are now referred to as the First Model Brown Bess. Sea Service Muskets were of lighter construction, to be kept in a locker aboard ship, except when used for boarding or combat. This reproduction by Davide Pedersoli of Italy features a tapered, 42" barrel in 75 caliber, walnut stock, brass furniture, steel ramrod and flint lock with correct military markings.
In near new condition with original factory box. This musket has never been used. The brass work is tarnished from long storage.
Weighing in at 8.9 pounds the Bess has a trigger reach of 14".
